Chelsea faithful may not be too excited about the potential exit of Thibaut Courtois.
The Belgium No 1 appear to be on his way to Spain next season after just four years in England. But the good news for Blues fans is the imminent arrival of Brazil goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
Alisson is widely regarded as the best shot-stopper in the world having impressed at AS Roma. The 25-year-old was phenomenal last season, racking up 15 clean sheets in 34 league appearances.
Beyond shutting his goal posts, Alisson’s composure, reflexes and ball control set him apart. He is only just two campaigns old in Europe yet has gained such a huge reputation.
Liverpool was the first to show interest in the ex-Internacional man as a replacement for unreliable Loris Karius.
However, the Brazilian reportedly turned it down favouring a move to Real Madrid. But the news making the rounds in Italy claim Chelsea is his favoured destination.
Italian outlet Il Tempo, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the Blues has struck a deal with the net minder.
Chelsea will not hesitate to meet his £80m asking price and offer him a contract worth around £100,000 weekly.
The deal should be completed in the coming days following Brazil’s exit from the World Cup. Belgium ended the Selecao’s hopes on Friday with a 2-1 victory. Alisson had kept three clean sheets before the collecting two against the Red Devils.
