2 More New Signings in a 3-5-2: Chelsea’s Possible Line-Up After The Transfer Window Shuts

Conte seems desperate to add some new wing backs to the squad and considering that Moses wasn’t even a wing back before last season you can see why. The latest reports have Chelsea interested in competing with Manchester United to sign PSG full back Serge Aurier. Victor Moses will be a good rotation option – he might have ended last season poorly, but Moses started this season in the right way, scoring in the Community Shield and in general putting in a solid performance.

CM – N’Golo Kante

The PFA Player of the Year last season has to step up again this time around in order to live up to high expectations set by himself.

CM – Danny Drinkwater

The latest reports suggest Chelsea are preparing a £30million bid for Drinkwater. This would be very underwhelming for Chelsea fans and it would be an expensive purchase for someone who would surely sit on the bench more often than not. Bakayaoko, when back from injury, will more than likely partner Kante – but is Drinkwater an upgrade on Fabregas? Both are playmakers and not very mobile, but in my opinion, Cesc is the better player. This move could be a waste of money.

LWB – Cesar Azpilicueta

With the added Champions League fixtures, I expect there to be plenty of rotation, but perhaps Azpilicueta will oust out Alonso on the left. Despite his goals, the Spaniard was visibly below par, especially towards the end of last season and I think if he continues that kind of form Conte will opt for a reshuffle and push Cesar wide.

AM – Eden Hazard

I can see Hazard taking up a central attacking midfield role if Conte switches to a 3-5-2. Chelsea’s 3-4-3 has become a little stale and predictable and I do think that Hazard in a more central area of the pitch would make him more of a threat.
