Arsenal’s starring man this season has occupied a striking role for the majority of the campaign, scoring 23 goals across all competitions. However, the Chilean doesn’t quite work as the lone striker in Arsenal’s current 4-2-3-1 formation as he often drops deep or shifts out wide.

In an attacking midfield role, Alexis would have the licence to drop deeper or shift out wide when required, without reducing the effect he has in Arsenal’s attacking play. His creativity would also benefit Arsenal’s attack, as the Gunners would always have an attacker in the middle.
