Project Jose Mourinho is underway at Old Trafford and Manchester United fans should certainly be excited by the signings Mourinho has already made and the ones he still, reportedly plans to make.

De Gea has committed his future to the club and that is a huge boost for Mourinho. De Gea is probably the best goalkeeper in the division and having him to build around is ideal. Darmian and Shaw are decent options at full-back, although there will be some concerns in this area considering Shaw is just returning to fitness and there remain question marks over the quality of Darmian. Mourinho could utilise Phil Jones somewhere in the defence if he manages to make a successful return to fitness. Bailly may be only 22 years old, but he cost Manchester United nearly £30million, so Mourinho clearly rates him highly. Mourinho wouldn’t naturally be a fan of Daley Blind as a central defender, and reports are strongly linking him with a move away from the club this summer. There continues to be rumours linking United with the likes of Raphael Varane, but it would be a surprise to see another central defender arrive following the addition of Bailly.
