With Wayne Rooney’s England career seemingly drawing to a close, Gareth Southgate has a big decision to make – who will be the next captain of the National team?
At first glance there appears to be very few suitable candidates, but there are three Tottenham players that should be considered.
1 – Dele Alli
He might be young, but with no obvious senior figure in the team, Southgate could show trust in young Alli to lead the team forward during his reign as manager. Arguably one of England’s most inform players at the moment, and there aren’t many to choose from, Alli is one player that is likely to spend a lot of time in the starting eleven over the next few years. He may have to curb his attitude problem a bit, though.
