Arsenal and Tottenham have both started the season fairly well and with just one point separating the two teams after 12 games, it looks like they will closely matched once again this season. Of course both teams ambitions are greater than finishing above each other, both want to win the league. But finishing above their rival would ensure that they’d be at least close to the top as both teams look likely to push for the title. I think it’s going to be another season where Arsenal edge this local duel, and here’s 4 reasons why.
1 – Better attacking depth
Attacking depth hasn’t been a word associated with Arsenal in recent years but this season they certainly appear to have greater variety in attack than their North London rivals. Tottenham are so reliant on Harry Kane and that couldn’t be clearer. They’ve only got back into good goalscoring form since he returned to the team and the worry for Tottenham fans will be whether or not Kane is capable of staying fit and keeping consistent form throughout the entire season. Arsenal’s first choice striker appears to be Alexis Sanchez, but Olivier Giroud keeps scoring from the bench. It’s giving Arsene Wenger a fantastic problem and a one that may very well prove to be the difference between the clubs come the end of the season. There’s also the small matter of Danny Welbeck and Lucas Perez who look set to return in December.
