5 – Kelechi Iheanacho
One of the most underrated young talents in Europe, Kelechi Iheanacho is set to take the new Premier League season by storm next season.
New Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is well known for promoting young players and will certainly give Iheanacho a major role in the City squad next season, a lot more than former manager Manuel Pellegrini did.
The 19-year-old Nigerian international made his debut for City in 2015 and has gone on to play 25 games for the Blues scoring eight goals.
He has dazzling dribbling abilities along with fine long shots and finishing. Like Rashford, Iheanacho plays with a spring in his step and doesn’t let the big occasions phase him.
The future of Nigeria, dubbed the next Nwankwo Kanu, Iheanacho takes everything in his stride and comes across as very humble player, who just wants to play football.
Iheanacho is in every sense a modern day centre-forward, he doesn’t just score goals and play for himself, he is also a goal creator. A fox in the box, is one way to describe the young player, a clear number 9 who comes deep to collect the ball to start the attack, a lot like a number 10.
Iheanacho is very exciting, every time I watch him I am amazed by his performances and braveness, he scored 0.90 goals per 90 minutes last season which is sublime.
It is not yet known what formation Guardiola will opt for next season, but nonetheless, Iheanacho will be key in City’s plans as he looks set to light up the league next season.
