Manchester United fans were happy with their performance, but not with a certain defender. Chris Smalling received a red card when Manchester United were playing well, and the Red Devils only lost 1-0 despite playing over half the game with 10 men.
If it wasn’t for Smalling’s ridiculously stupid red card, United could – and probably would – have left the Etihad with all three points. Smalling received a yellow early in the first half for obstructing Joe Hart, which is stupid enough. But to then go and lunge in at a player ten minutes later is just too daft to comprehend. United were already short on defenders and Smalling’s poor decision making now leaves United with two fit defenders who have ten first team appearances between them.
