Arsenal fans have taken to social media to complain about goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny after his two mistakes led to a 2-0 defeat against Southampton on New Year’s Day.
The Gunners were punished for their errors that led to both goals, which Szczesny being at fault on each occasion, which infuriated Arsenal fans who were looking to kick-off the year in style. Instead, they were left red-faced and saw North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur leapfrog them later in the day.
Szczesny was this week’s scapegoat as his underperformance led to a poor result for Arsenal, which saw 2015 get off to a whimper. He’s set to miss out for the weekend clash with Hull City in the FA Cup- although this decision was likely to be made whatever the result
The more I see Szczesny drinking his water bottle, more it annoys me. Shouldn’t he be hitting the ground or holding his head in his hands?

Both goals were Szczesny’s mistakes. Defence were TERRIBLE though. I think starting with Coquelin & Chambers in the middle played a big part

Szczesny picking up his bottle to drink after conceding the second goal. Reminded me of TY when he wants to dodge a question

Szczesny most obviously at fault on both goals but other senior defenders making basic errors.

Szczesny’s last clean sheet for Arsenal was 2 months ago (Nov 1st) in 3-0 win against BURNLEY #AFC

Szczesny doing his best to prove my point that he simply isn’t good enough for Arsenal. Yet again his decision-making is amateurish.

Remember three or four years ago when everyone thought Wojciech Szczęsny was going to be great? That went well.
