Many Arsenal fans are crying out for Arsene Wenger to play Jack Wilshere as a well-needed defensive midfielder in the upcoming games for the Gunners, after he continued to impressed in the position for England.
Wilshere has won four successive Man of The Match award’s with the national team whilst playing in a deeper role, which has led to fans stating that he should be chosen ahead of Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta in the position. However, not all Arsenal fans are convinced and believe he has performed only against lesser opposition, which makes him nowhere near ready for a big test against Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund.
The general consensus is that whilst Wilshere can provide a temporary fix until the transfer window reopens in the New Year, a defensive-midfielder must still top the shopping list when January comes around.
Of course AW will not get credit for persisting with recovering, out of form Wilshere in deeper role and advising Hodgson to use him as DM.

Wilshere looks as though he’s being coached to play a position for England. Not really seen evidence of that at Arsenal….

re: Wilshere – Ramsey combo at CM. If Wilshere plays the role he does for the national team and Ramsey is disciplined, it can work.

Wilshere getting MOTM for the 4th consecutive game should be enough for Wenger to try him out as a DM at Arsenal. #AFC

Thought Wilshere was fantastic once again this evening, he’s fitted into the dm role extremely well.

Jack Wilshere is not the answer to our DM problems, he has had a couple of good games against poor opposition with bad attacking options#afc

Jack Wilshere as a DM. I’m still not buying it…

Imagine thinking Wilshere should be our DM. We will get absolutely murdered. The Premier League ain’t Scotland or San Marino mate.

Wilshere can always improve his game defensively, and once we get a real DM he can push up and we’ll have a good back up DM in Wilshere.
