Arsenal have finished the previous season in England Premier League as second behind Leicester City. Their fans are feeling nothing but regret because the slow start has probably costed them the title. We will hardly see all big names in England struggle two times in a row, especially after so many world – class players being brought to Premier League.

We were all expecting to see some big transfers completed at the Emirates during the summer, but Arsenal’s club board was very quiet about it. Arrival of Xhaka was simply not enough for the fans and they had a good reason to be sceptical about the opening of new season. It is true that Wenger did his best to bring Lyon’s Lacazette, who would probably fit very well to Arsenal’s playstyle and football psychology, but the negotiations were terminated by the French side.

Start of the new season for The Gunners was awful. They have offered terrible performance in the back line and conceded 4 goals to Liverpool at the Emirates. The final result of that match was 3 – 4 and the fans were not happy about it. Arsene’s squad has failed to claim first victory of the season in the 2nd round as well. They have faced the defending champions Leicester City at Kings Power Stadium and that duel as ended as a goalless draw. At that point many fans were demanding Arsene Wenger to resign, demanding a couple of new acquisitions.

Arsenal and Wenger have silenced the critics in the 3rd round and pulled a 3 – 1 victory against Watford. Alexis Sanchez was definitely man of the match, scoring one and providing an assist to Ozil. Since transfer period deadline was ticking out, the club board has decided to do some spending. Lucas Perez was brought from Deportivo La Coruna for 20 Million EUR, while Mustafi from Valencia was paid 41 Million EUR. Jack Wilshere was sent to Bournemouth, hoping that he will succeed to find his old form there.

Arsene Wenger and his boys will try to catch up with the leading duo from Manchester in the next couple of weeks. First they will be hosting Southampton this weekend, then face Hull City on the road. Arsenal are currently sitting in the 8th position with 4 points.
