CSKA Moscow has resolved to lose star midfielder, Aleksandr Golovin, this summer. The 22-year-old playmaker has been with the Army club since 2012 – maturing into a creative hub.
However, CSKA isn’t willing to let him go on the cheap with Chelsea reportedly keen on his services. Golovin has become an essential part of the capital club and the Russian national team.
He has garnered over century appearances for the team since breaking into the first team in 2014. For the Sbornaya, the 22-year-old has been even more influential.
Golovin was his country’s highest rated player before the World Cup and he justified the hype in style at the competition. Russia narrowly crashed to Croatia on penalties but Golovin would be glad about how the journey went.
Now CSKA is hoping to bank on his incredible showing to squeeze around £20m from Chelsea. The Blues appears to be in the forefront for the midfielder but must meet the club’s valuation.
Incoming Chelsea boss, Maurizio Sarri, is an admirer of the Russian who he courted while at Napoli. According to Sky Sports News reporter, Dharmesh Sheth, the Blues will launch a bid to sign Golovin.
“This is an interesting one. Aleksandr Golovin is another target. It is interesting because he was a target for Napoli in the last window,” Sheth told the Transfer Talk podcast.
“It’s not a surprise there is an interest there. It is an indication that Sarri could be taking over. CSKA would be looking for upward of £20m.”
