West Ham United’s 20-year-old defender Reece Oxford is reportedly close on sealing an £8m deal away from the London club this summer.
The English professional footballer is close to reaching a move worth £8m to seal a move away from West Ham, with Bundesliga side Augsburg set to sign him as their permanent player by the end of this season after a few months loan spell, according to Sky Sports.
At the look of things, Oxford seems to be forgotten at the London Stadium despite been once considered has perhaps the most promising talent in the Premier League following his senior debut for the Hammers.
Sealing a move to join Augsburg on loan in January has earned him 6 appearances this season, but was sent off in the 5-1 defeat against Freiburg back in February.
However, a large number of West Ham fans still thinks his sales will be a piece of good business to agree to a fee of that region for Oxford, even despite his potential. Doesn’t look like his is in Manuel Pellegrini’s plans, and it’s a big doubt whether he will ever have a foot-hold in his squad so maybe we cross our fingers and let him move on with his career.
His sales will mean the Hammers will have to watch out for a perfect replacement for him, but it’s yet to be seen who will be joining the club when the summer transfer window opens.
