England may have just found the class right-back they were looking for in Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne, who impressed this even with a quality performance against the old enemy of Scotland.
The Saints star was strong in both defence and attack, which has seemingly signalled the end for Liverpool’s Glen Johnson in the national set-up- much to the delight of the fans. Across the country there was an optimistic mood after the result and fans from all clubs were impressed with Clyne.
Celebrities, journalists and the everyday fan was full of praise for the 23-year-old, who is now expected to become a key-part of Roy Hodgson’s England side.
Most positive thing to come out of international break is that Glen Johnson is never pulling on the England shirt again! #Clyne

Chambers starting over Clyne at RB was nothing more than bigger club bias.

So happy Hodgson finally saw sense and picked Clyne. Best RB we have by far.

Clyne’s our best RB since Gary Neville, great attacking and pretty damn good defensively, refreshing to hear isn’t it?
