Manchester United have been heavily linked with Harry Kane recently, but the latest reports from Goal indicate that Louis van Gaal is ready to transform that interest into a formal bid.
Goal suggest that United will offer Tottenham a £50million package for the in-form Kane, they are reportedly prepared to offer Luis Nani, Javier Hernandez AND Adnan Januzaj. It is me or was it not long ago that Januzaj was being valued at £50million?
Spurs won’t want to sell Kane, but if they get an offer worth that much and offered that much quality, could they afford to turn it down? Januzaj is capable of emulating Kane’s breakthrough season and Hernandez and Nani are both quality proven players. It seems like a no brainer, but would Spurs fans rather have the cash to spend elsewhere? Or not sell him at all?
Twitter has taken to this rumour rather aggresively, with Tottenham fans becoming defensive over their star forward and Manchester United fans cautious about investing so much into a player who has only performed at a high quality for one season.
Here’s how Twitter is reacting to the story:
Man Utd are apparently set to bid £50m for Harry Kane
If that happens, I will probably collapse from a laughing fit

The supposed Man Utd bid of £50m Nani, Hernandez, and Januzaj for Kane would be far more attractive without Nani. #coys

We want to stress, the original report did not say £50million, but instead three players, making a deal worth up to £50million.
