Football fans up and down the country have been left scratching their heads this morning after it emerged that Manchester City are set to buy Wilfried Bony from Swansea for an astronomical £30m fee.
The Citizens are in the market for a new striker to give them the edge in the Premier League title battle with Chelsea and identified Bony as their prime target. However, eyebrows have been raised at the staggering fee the defending champions are set to pay for a player who’s not experienced in European football.
Bony was the top scorer in the Premier League during 2014 with 20 goals and has 35 goals in 70 games for the Welsh side- but even those impressive stats can’t convince these fans that it’s a good deal. It’s also upset a fair few number of Liverpool fans, who could have signed Bony in the summer- but ended up with Mario Balotelli.
It’s Funny how when @LFC where rumoured to be bidding 18m for #Bony at the start of the season was crazy. Yet 30m to #ManCity is a steal.

Man City are apparently going to pay £30m for Bony when they already have Aguero, Dzeko and Jovetic.. They don’t need Bony, waste of £.

Swansea have accepted Man City’s £30m offer for Bony. We refused to give 18m for him in the summer and decided to go for Balotelli for 16mil

Wilfried Bony has scored 35 in 70 games for Swansea. Not a bad stat but not worth £30m. Too exorbitant for a player of his calibre

So Bony is going to MCFC to add firepower to their squad, we’re still not doing anything about GK & a striker this month. Kiss bye to 4th

Bony for 30 mill…. are you sure? Costa was 32 mill, sanchez was 34 mill. Also doesnt make sense for home grown quota or fffp.
