Manchester City are set for a big-spending summer and reports today indicate they have made a move for Fulham’s talented youngster Patrick Roberts.
The highly-rated 18-year-old sensation is being eyed as a signing for Manuel Pellegrini to boost the clubs homegrown contingent, which they must strengthen in order to accord to Premier League regulations.
Raheem Sterling, Jack Wilshere and Ross Barkley have been names mentioned- but at just £5m, Roberts is an addition that wouldn’t stretch Pellegrini’s transfer budget at all.
However, fans from a variety of clubs have urged Patrick Roberts not to commit ‘career suicide’- indicating that he will not get chances with the Citizens.
They may have a point, as Scott Sinclair and Jack Rodwell found at the hard way. Could Roberts be another flop story?
I’ll be very, very unhappy if City get Patrick Roberts.

If City loan Patrick Roberts back to Fulham then it may be a shrewd move, as he bags of potential. However, is it too early for him? Perhaps
