Twitter was a happy place for fans of Manchester United yesterday after their first away win in seven months, though it came in rather fortunate circumstances.
An own-goal and a Wayne Rooney attempt on the counter gave Van Gaal his first away victory in his Manchester United career, against a struggling Arsenal side. Whilst the performance wasn’t great from the visitors, they got the job done in the end and even the manager stated he his press conference afterwards that he was ‘laughing’.
Whilst still under performing, this United side plagued by injuries is up to fourth in the table- so Van Gaal is clearly doing something right with his wafer thin squad.
People say Manchester United’s defence is weak LOL.Trust me even McNair and Blackett would NEVER be this naive #MUFCpic.twitter.com/7bfiWrWS9n

Just finished watching Arsenal v United. I am sure everything has been said. Arsenal will never see a Manchester United team this bad again.

Manchester United won with a patched up team and are fourth despite a patchy season: no wonder Van Gaal in laughing mode.

One shot on target tonight, two goals tonight and now just one defeat to Arsenal in their last 15 games for Manchester United #PremierLeague

It doesn’t matter how bad Manchester United are…they can always count on picking up points against Arsenal. #epl

Van Gaal is doing things with the worst possible squad injuries I’ve ever seen. Surely that has to fill you with confidence

And people still can’t see a difference between Moyes and Louis van Gaal.
