Manchester United have reportedly completed the signing of Victor Valdes on one and a half year deal. The fans seem pretty happy with Louis van Gaal’s first signing of the January window.
Valdes picked up a horror injury just before leaving Barcelona. The 32 year old was expected to sign for Monaco, but his injury meant any move was impossible. He has worked hard to get back to fitness and it now looks like a dream ending for the player as Manchester United look set to sign him. The Spanish keeper is likely to play second fiddle to first choice David de Gea, but the players intentions will be to work his way to the number one spot – no matter how hard that will be. de Gea is the only Manchester United player to play every single game this season and that showed how desperate van Gaal was to get another stopper in.
Some Manchester United fans would have preferred to see a defender arrive but in Valdes they have acquired a professional player with bags of experience at the top level. Here’s what Twitter is saying about the move:
So United are signing Victor Valdes? Good signing. He'll bring a lot of experience and knowledge with him

With Lindergaard and Amos leaving I think Valdes is a great signing, good cover for DDG. Still doesn't change the fact we need defenders!

Happy about the Victor Valdes signing. It's a squad game and you need quality in depth. As it stands if De Gea got injured we'd be screwed

Biggest question if Valdes rumors are true, United getting him for a good backup goalie or avoid Arsenal/Liverpool signing him? #MUFC

If the news is true, Valdes is a good signing as a backup keeper, not to replace De Gea #mufc
