‘Great Response’: Spurs Fans Appreciate Vital Victory Against Swansea

Last week Spurs fans were looking ahead to the biggest week in their season. This week their looking back on what ‘might’ of been.

Europa League heartbreak at the hands of Fiorentina, followed by misfortune in the rain at Wembley.
Mo Salah and Mario Gomez got the week off to a bad start, scoring two goals after two mistakes from Fazio and Vertonghen in Florence, whilst in turn Roberto Soldado’s blushes weren’t saved, following he’s howler of a miss with the scores 0-0.
Then was the turn of Sunday and optimism.
But Diego Costa and John Terry goals helped Chelsea lift the Capital One Cup, as Harry Kane couldn’t quite emulate the performance he showed at White Hart Lane in the league to single handedly guide Spurs to glory.
A week to forget, then.
But last night Spurs had to get over their European and domestic disappointments as their league duties resumed against Swansea. With the top four still a target, it was important the North Londoners got a win.
Yet, after Nacer Chadli’s opener was cancelled out, you wondered whether the hangover from the week gone by would catch up on a fragile Tottenham side. However, goals from Andros Townsend and Ryan Mason’s first for the club, gave Spurs a much needed win, lifting the gloom at the lane, to the delight of the home faithful…
