Chelsea fans are having mixed feeling about how deadline day is going so far. Three deals are all but completed, but two will see players leave the club.
The London club, who top the Premier League have dipped into the market to strengthen their squad on deadline day. The big signing is the much sought-after midfielder Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina. This deal will see Mohammed Salah join Fiorentina on loan. The third deal Chelsea have completed is the sale of Andre Schurrle to Wolfsburg. They are thought to have raised around £25million from the sale of the German forward.
Jose Mourinho will be overjoyed if these three deals go through without any complications as it will see him trim to squad players wages of the wage bill and Schurrle’s sale should just about cover the cost of signing Cuadrado. All in all Mourinho has managed to sign the player he wants, without losing an awful lot. Andre Schurrle’s goalscoring qualities were obvious, but Mourinho’s system at Chelsea suits harder working players. Cuadrado will fit in perfectly.
Chelsea fans are sceptical of Schurrle’s sale, but excited by the prospect of Cuadrado. Here’s how the fans are reacting:
.@cuadrado welcome to @chelseafc what a great signing! #cfc https://t.co/87YjK4BZM8

Don't understand how Chelsea can let schurrle go! He's a quality player

If Schurrle and Salah go we need to bring someone else in as we can't replace two players with one after yesterday's bench.

We've lost Schurlle which is a shame but hopefully Cuadrado will be a great signing! #CFC

I think Juan Cuadrado would be a great signing for #CFC, however it could mean two player with great potential (Schürrle & Salah) leaving

Sad to see Schurrle go, but definitely the right call. Excited to see what Juan Cuadrado can bring to the club!

Sorry Mourinho but I didn't see Cuadrado get the assist in the World Cup final

C'mon, Chelsea. Cuadrado in, Salah out, and hopefully Schurrle stays unless we get a huge fee. #CFC

So long Schurrle. I liked him, but just didn't set the team alight. Let's get Cuadrado and his electrifying pace in

Can't believe Chelsea have let Schurrle go. Top player.
