Robin van Persie found his best form when Manchester United hosted Hull at the weekend, and scored a beautiful goal to cap his performance.
There had been some concern over the Dutchman’s form, with many fans suggesting that youngster James Wilson should start ahead of him. Louis van Gaal decided to persist with his instinct though and gave van Persie another start at the weekend. He re-paid that faith with a much improved performance and a spectacular goal.
There have been reports that with van Persie’s contract out in the summer, Manchester United will not offer him a new deal. If this is true, van Persie knows he needs to up his performances in order to improve his chances of being handed a new deal. This goal will go a long way to improving the fans view of him and it could give him the confidence to push on and re-discover his form.
Here’s how the fans reacted to his goal and performance at the weekend.

I don't doubt that'll do van Persie a whole lot of good.

He wasn't brilliant but Rvp defiantly looked a lot better today and his goal showed that he's still got it & that should help his confidence

I've been so critical of RVP mainly because I know how good he is & I expect a lot better. Today was better form temporary class permanent

A clean sheet feels so good. But a Robin van Persie goal feels even better.

Liam was still not satisfied with the Dutchman
Would rather have Smalling up top instead of RvP. Not joking.
