Manchester City fell 8 points behind leaders Chelsea with a 2-2 draw against lowly Queens Park Rangers. Martin Demichelis scored an own goal, much to the dismay of the fans.
The Champions fell behind twice to Queens Park Rangers, with goals from Charlie Austin – and an own goal from Martin Demichelis. Sergio Aguero saved the day for Manchester City with two individual efforts but it wasn’t enough to give City the three points.
The Manchester City fans were not happy with how their defensive duo performed. Elaquim Managala and Demichelis look lost without Vicent Kompany and their defensive deficiencies have been highlighted in their recent games. The fans placed specific blame on the Argentinian defender. Obviously he was at fault for this goal, and perhaps this game – but I think Demichelis doesn’t get the credit he deserves overall. I think he has improved massively since his arrival at the Etihad, where he was regularly criticised for him performances, or lack of one.
Demichelis, oh Demichelis. What would we do without you. Get the three points?

GOAL: Martín Demichelis with a perfectly placed header into the far corner… of his own goal! QPR lead 2-1.

Having Demichelis and Mangala as a centre back pairing was a disaster waiting to happen

Am one of his few admirers but Demichelis was abysmal today. Using his leg instead of head while pretending to stop Zamora from scoring

@MCFC tell Pellegrini to never start Demichelis and Mangala again. You can see what's happening right?

Pellegrini to blame, or just an unfortunate mistake from Demichelis?
Demichelis own goal and you put the blame on Pellegrini.. are you blind or fool ?
