Despite playing 22 matches unbeaten and top striker Pierre Aubameyang winning the golden boot in the just concluded season, Arsenal still fails to make it to the Premier League top 4.
The North London club are scheduled to be playing Chelsea for the Europa League final which is said to be their last game of the season. However, if the Gunners win the game by chance, they will automatically make it to the Champions League which is automatically the same as making the top 4.
In an attempt of building a stronger team ahead of next term, Arsenal manager Unai Emery is on the look-out of luring one or two players to come improve his squad ahead of a better challenge.
Arsenal has been linked with a couple of players since the summer window open but the most interested players at the moment seem to be the likes of Samuel Umtiti, Zaha and Rabiot.
Signing players of these qualities would mean Arsenal will do pretty better next term and it’s not too early to start picturing how the Spanish manager will line-up with these players next term.
With Petre Cech said to be leaving the club this summer and returning to Chelsea has a non-footballing staff, Arsenal might need to start thinking of who will be filling the void that will be left by him.
However, there is no official confirmation from the club on who they will be signing at the look of things as at today. I personally don’t think there will be any goalkeeper coming in. Should this be true, Arsenal will be forced to call back Martinez from his loan spell.
The arrival of Umtiti will mean a big upgrade on the London club but not too good for the likes of Laurent Koscielny and England star Rob Holding who is just returning from his long-duration injury.
However, this is not the time to give any player chance to prove himself as the era of sir Arsene Wenger is bygone. The Gunners were awful in the defence the last term which as lead them to concede over 50 goals.
Emery seems to be more interested in improving his defence this summer, but it’s yet to be decided what player that will be joining the club.
Aaron Ramsey had his send off with the club in the game against Brighton which was the last home game of the season last season.
With that said, Emery is in search of getting a perfect replacement for the Wales international and has identified Rabiot has the right man to come in for him.
The France international is a free agent at this time and following his work rate and dazzling footwork over the years confirm he will be very signing for the Gunner and a perfect replacement for outgoing Ramsey.
At the look of this, a little work is only needed upfront as duo Aubameyang and Lacazette has been super-B the last term and caused a whole lot of damage to clubs defence last term.
However, the Gunners has been lacking from the wide and might have to address this summer, with Zaha brilliant performance making him the best ace to solve this issue.
It’s yet to be seen Emery will be lining-up his players next term as we fans can only imagine and predict it at this time. So let take things with a pinch of salt and see what happens when the season opens again.
