Kenedy may be unwanted at Chelsea but the arrival of the Brazilian has livened things at Newcastle.
The Magpies are hoping to complete the signing of the 22-year-old on Tuesday after undergoing a medical.
Kenedy impressed on loan at the club last season and it was only logical for him to return there.
He scored two crucial goals and created two others to help Rafael Benitez’s men avoid the drop.
Newcastle was hoping to seal a permanent switch but a £30million fee turned them off.
Instead, Benitez has taken the easier loan option to keep the Brazilian with a facility fee to be paid to the Blues for his services.
The arrival of Kenedy takes the club’s summer deals to three – joining Martin Dubravka and Ki Sung-Yeung.
However, the Toon Army is yet to spend big this summer as Dubravka only cost £4m.
Kennedy joined Chelsea from Fluminense in 2015 for around £6.5m.
But he has barely made any impact, garnering only 15 Premier League appearances since then.
Should the Newcastle move pull through, it will be the third time the Brazilian will go out on loan since joining the club.
