Reports have emerged over the past few days that Liverpool are closing in on the signing of James Milner on a free transfer after his contract expired at Manchester City.
The midfielder will be available on a free transfer as he is now a free agent after he reportedly rejected a new contract offer from Manchester City, which included a whopping £165,000-a-week in an attempt to keep jhim at the club.
It has been reported that James Milner will be willing to receive a pay-cut from what he was offered at Manchester City to join Liverpool, and will be offered £150,000-per-week wage to make the move to Anfield, and reports suggest that this is no problem for Liverpool, who are willing to pay up.
Fans are divided as to whether the midfielder would be a good signing for the Reds, and many have taken to Twitter to voice their views on the matter.
Please tell me this James Milner to #LFC is true!! That is some positivity, thought he would be a good addition long ago #YNWA

Looking like James Milner and Danny Igns are coming to us #LFC we still need big names which isn’t gonna happen with Rodgers & no UCL..

This deal for James Milner is looking awfully like the signing of Joe Cole. And that is in no way a good thing…
