Man City set to battle Man United for £75m-rated ace after defender confirms move

Harry Maguire

Despite having a world-class squad and lifting the Premier League title twice in a role, Manchester City are still on the lookout of luring new players to come to strengthen their team for a better challenge next term.

The Premier League defending Champions have made Leicester City star Harry Maguire their first target for this summer.

With the departure of Vincent Kompany, the Etihad outlet are on the look-out of luring a replacement for him and they have identified the England international as a perfect replacement to come in for him.

The 33-year-old Belgium announced his departure on Monday and have put to pen a three-year deal with his former club Anderlecht to become their player-manager

Maguire was formerly likely with a move to join Manchester United but it seems a move won’t happen as the Red Devils are failing to meet Leicester’s £75m asking price for their highly-rated defender. Both former manager Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have shown a great interest in the England international.

However, Pep Guardiola has been very impressed by the defender’s performance when they played against his club in the 1-0 games club against City. Having watching Maguire for a very long time now, I strongly believe he will be the perfect man to replacement Kompany should Man City needs someone of this quality.

Which club will Maguire play for next term? No one knows. So let take things with a pinch of salt and see what happens when the summer transfer window ends by August.
