Jean Michael Seri appears to be nearing a move to Chelsea after reportedly being spotted in London.
Seri was named in Patrick Vieira’s pre-season squad at Nice but reports claim he opted to stay away from the team.
According to France Football, Seri didn’t link up with Nice for the start of pre-season but is currently in London waiting for a potential transfer.
The Ivorian is apparently trying to force a move away from France and Stamford Bridge seem his next destination.
Although the Blues aren’t his only admirers; Arsenal and Fulham are monitoring the situation. A potential move for Seri will cost the Blues around £35m but that figure could reduce after July.
The 26-year-old has just one year left on his current with the French side. The whole merry-go-round would come as a surprise considering the Ivorian’s agent claimed he was close to Napoli.
“We hope to have positive news from Naples in the next few hours,” Seri’s intermediary Franklin Mala told CalcioNapoli24.
“There’s been informal contact with Napoli, but still no step forward. We’re ready to meet Napoli.
“Napoli are in pole position, Seri prefers Naples to anywhere else. Napoli needs to speed up in every way to close the deal.”
Seri has been Ligue 1’s most consistent midfielder in the past two seasons. He garnered the most accurate passes than any other in the French top-flight. He also racked up two goals and 10 assists in 43 appearances.
