‘One Of The Best In The World’ Twitter Reacts To Chelsea Stars Stunning Performance vs. Leicester

Chelsea picked up three vital points on Saturday as they hosted the Premier League champions. One Chelsea player who really stood out on Saturday was Diego Costa, who was once again on the scoresheet and his overall performance left many viewers incredibly impressed.

Whilst Costa’s goal will get the headlines, it was perhaps his industrious defensive work that impressed fans most. When he is at his best and in the mood, he is a very good defensive forward, hustling and harrying defenders from the front and putting pressure on the opposition, forcing mistakes and creating more room for the midfielders around him. Statistically he made 1 tackle and 2 clearances, but the Spaniard’s work rate cannot be put into a statistic. If you ask the Leicester City defenders what they thought of Diego Costa today, they’ll say that they are relieved to hear the full time whistle, as Costa is always a nightmare to defend against. There’s not only a technical battle to have with him, but it is the physical and mental battles where Costa often comes out on top.

In an attacking sense, he had just 2 shots, scoring 1 and he also made 1 key pass. Of course his clinical nature in front of goal is what is helping Chelsea rack up the points at the moment.

Whilst Costa was not the most involved today, the fact that he has scored again is really promising for Chelsea fans. In fact, he is the top goalscorer in the Premier League. If he can win the golden boot then Chelsea have a great chance of finishing in the Champions League spots – and that has to be the main aim for this season after last campaigns disappointment.

Here is some of the reaction to Diego Costa’s performance on Twitter. Even opposition fans are in awe of his goalscoring form.

Diego Costa has had a wonderful start to the season and Chelsea fans will hope that can continue for the entire season. It is his third campaign in England, the first of which was also wonderful for the Spaniard, he won the title and scored goals for fun. But like much of the Chelsea team, Costa really struggled last season (Costa’s 2nd). This summer the press linked Costa with a return to Spain, with Diego Simeone incredibly keen to bring him back to Atletico, and you can see why. But Conte will be delighted he stayed put as he is incredibly important to this team.
