Mauricio Pochettino is allegedly already looking to bolster his attack this summer. Despite the club’s solid showing in the Premier League, they have lacked an alternative to Kane. Here are three top quality attackers they could sign.
1 – Mario Mandzukic
Tottenham are looking to ease the goal scoring burden off of Harry Kane’s shoulders next season and to do that they are looking at signing Mario Mandzukic according to Tuttosport, via Metro. The 29-year-old would add experience and a different dimension to the Spurs attack. He has scored 11 goals this season, with game time in Italy restricted. Mandzukic would be a useful signing as he can also play on the wing, enabling him to play alongside Kane if the game requires it. Son has been Tottenham’s rotation option for Kane for most of the season. In comparison to Son, Madzukic is much more prolific, scoring on average 0.45 goals per 90 minutes (Son averages 0.19). The Croatian is not as creative as Son, though, who managed 1.52 key passes per 90 compared to Madzukic’s 0.90. An area where Mandzukic really excels is 63% of aerial duels won, Son manages just 27%. This statistic really highlights the different dimension he could add in addition to his ability to lead the line alone, something Son has struggled to do effectively.
