Liverpool have received a boost in their pursuit of Bayern Munich attacking midfielder Mario Gotze.
The Reds are hopeful of bringing him to Liverpool for just £20million this summer, Gotze only has 12 months remaining on his contract and is reportedly seeking assurances over his first-team football with Ancelotti, and it has been said Ancelotti has told Gotze he can leave.

Liverpool will face competition to get Gotze’s signature with former club Borussia Dortmund also reportedly interested, but Klopp, who will start his new project with Liverpool this summer, is hoping his close ‘Father, Son’ relationship will be enough to get Gotze to Merseyside.

Coutinho has completed 1.98 key passes per 90 minutes with Firmino second (1.86), Gotze is third on 1.41. Liverpool’s two creative midfielders have been in fine form this season and are narrowly separated when it comes to chances created. Coutinho comes first by three scoring 2.21 with Firmino just behind with 2.18, Gotze is once again third (1.79). Gotze comes top with assists after scoring an impressive 0.38 with Firmino just behind (0.32), Coutinho is last (0.23).

Once of the most versatile players in Europe, Gotze is capable of playing as either a left or right winger, attacking midfielder and also as a false 9 which would certainly give the Liverpool plenty of options. Gotze is considered to be one of the best young players in the world, possessing speed, technique, dribbling skills and play-making capabilities he has all the attributes to be one Europe’s most talented.
