3 – Cesc Fabregas to leave

Fabregas looked certain to leave Chelsea and he still could, with Conte not regarding him as a first team player. The Mirror believe he could stay on the bench with the London club yet to receive an offer for the Spaniard – although with that in mind, you would expect the former Arsenal midfielder to push for a transfer on the last day of the window. Fabregas is a quality creative midfielder, but it seems he lacks the overall energy on the pitch and in particular, defensive discipline, to impress Conte and win a starting spot in his team. With that being the reason, it is unlikely that Cesc will manage to get back into the starting eleven as he would need to completely adapt his style of play, which, aged 29, I personally can not see happening. Cesc would probably like to play in his preferred number 10 role, where it is easier to neglect defensive actions, although in Conte’s structured system, no player can afford not to defend and work hard.
