Ronald Koeman is set to make his mark. The Dutch coach switched life in Southampton to move to Merseyside this summer, with a promise of having a big transfer budget. Whilst Koeman is still hoping to keep hold of some of the clubs stars in Ross Barkley, Romelu Lukaku and John Stones, most of his attention now appears to be on making new signings. Fresh Football has researched the latest sources and found that reputable sources are linked Everton with making these four signings.
1 – Axel Witsel
The rumour linking Witsel to Everton has been around for some time now and it seems that a deal may finally have been struck. According to Squawka, Everton have agreed a £30million for the Belgian midfielder who is currently at Euro 2016. Once the tournament is over he will discuss personal terms with Koeman’s side. His aerial duels won (2.42 per game) and total duels won of 54.46% are very impressive, and show he is capable of playing a deeper, more destructive role. He might not win as many tackles or interceptions as you would like from a deep central player, so it might be best to deploy him alongside a Matic or Dier, who excel in those areas. Bare in mind that playing in a far worse league (Russia vs. England), Witsel’s stats could be warped. Not only will it be easier for him to create chances but also he may not be required to make as many tackles.
