2 – Vincent Aboubakar
According to reports, Everton have opened discussions over a potential £16million deal for Porto hit-man Vincent Aboubakar.
Koeman will look to add more fire power to his depleted squad this summer with the 24-year-old being a target.
Everton have already talked with Aboubakar’s representatives and it has been reported the player is interested in linking up with Koeman at Goodison Park. Leicester City are also interested in Aboubakar but it seems Everton are currently leading the race for his signature.
There are no doubts why the two clubs are interested in Aboubakar, the Cameroon international is very powerful, like Everton’s Romelu Lukaku and is also very pacey with an eye for goal scoring 16 goals last season.
Aboubakar does lack the cutting edge when asked to hold the ball up so can’t always be relied on to be a target man, although he is a striker, and it is expected, he does also lack defensive contribution which could be a worry for the Toffees.
Aboubakar has 13 goals in 45 games for Cameroon with his last coming in a friendly against France last month.
Aboubakar will be targeted regardless of Lukaku’s future as they look to partner the two powerhouses together but with the latter being watched by Juventus in previous games the club has to identify suitable replacements.
Oumar Niasse has failed to impress since his move in January and Arouna Kone could head for the exit as he considers an offer from China.
