3 – Ahmed Musa
According to the Independent Leicester City have submitted an offer in the region of £22.8 million for CSKA Moscow striker Ahmed Musa.
The Russain club value Musa at €30 million with Leicester offering just a bit less.
The Premier League champions attempted to lure the 23-year-old to England in January but were unprepared to meet CSKA Moscow’s valuation of the player, but they have since come back and bid for the forward, according to Leonid Slutsky, the Russian club’s manager.
“The British club offered a bit less than €30m [£22.86m],” he said. “A few days ago, Musa approached me and asked: ‘When is he [Claudio Ranieri] back from holiday?’ I told him: ‘I am not Ranieri, I do not know.’
Musa has previously been linked with English giants Manchester United and had a very good season last year scoring 18 goals and assisted six times which secure CSKA the Russian League title.
The forward has played 125 games for CSKA scoring 42 goals and has also represented Nigeria 58 times scoring 11 goals.
The Foxes hierarchy may view him as a pacey replacement for Vardy who could still leave, and have tracked the Nigerian’s progress across the last two seasons.
Should Leicester be able to agree terms with both CSKA and Musa, the proposed deal is certain to break Leicester City’s transfer record.
