Whether it is Jose Mourinho or Louis Van Gaal in charge of Manchester United next season there will be another major rebuild in the summer. United have once again fallen short in the League and will not feature in next season’s Champions League. The Red Devils have been exposed many times this season and for some fans, the end couldn’t come quick enough, it will certainly be another very busy transfer window for United and we look at three players they could sign this summer.
1 – Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Reports broke out yesterday that Manchester United are considering offering Ibrahimovic a one-year deal with his contract at Paris Saint-Germain set to come to an end.
Reports in France went as far to say United have offered Ibrahimovic the one-year deal. This report was quickly denied by his agent Mino Raiola describing the stories as “not factual” –
United reportedly held talks with Ibrahimovic and his representatives back in March and it has been said they have once again been in contact.
United are one of the few clubs who can match the Swedish international financial demands with him demanding as much of £12million a year (£250,000 per-week).
We take a look at how he compares with United’s current number one striker, Anthony Martial. Ibrahimovic has had a prolific season and has managed to score 1.34 goals per 90 minutes compared to Martial who has only managed 0.39. Ibrahimovic doesn’t just score goals and has also created 1.59 chances which is just ahead of Martial 1.24. Ibrahimovic scores a very impressive 60% when it comes to shot accuracy with Martial behind by 3% (57%). One of the all-time best, Ibrahimovic has an impressive score of 64.47 on attack score with Martial somewhat behind on 20.96.
United will have to fight to secure Ibrahimovic’s services as the player has a variety of offers, including interest from the MLS.
