3 – Kieran Gibbs
Kieran Gibbs is desperate to play first-team football next season and at Newcastle he would certainly get that chance. The 26-year-old finds himself behind Nacho Monreal in the pecking order and with Ricardo Rodriguez lined up, Gibbs appears to be far from Arsene Wenger’s plans. The Gunners are reportedly seeking £12million for the homegrown defender, though they are likely to accept bids of around £10million. Gibbs is a seasoned Premier League defender that has been part of the Arsenal’s starting eleven on many occasions and has been capped 10 times for England. He is a quick defender that is very good going forward but perhaps a little suspect defensively. In the Championship Newcastle should dominate most games and that will enable Gibbs to do what he does best in attacking areas. Gibbs has been a long-term target for Newcastle with their reported interest stretching back to February, it is entirely possible that this story has substance and that Arsenal and the player could definitely approve the deal.
