Maurizio Sarri is reportedly still being considered as Chelsea next manager. The 59-year-old is currently without a job after replaced by Carlo Ancelotti at Napoli.
Sarri guided the Southern club to within reach of the Serie A crown but ultimately fell to Juventus.
Yet it was the exquisite brand of attacking football that really gained widespread acceptance. Napoli was fearless on the ball irrespective of the opposition.
The Blues seem to have been enchanted by his tactical mastery. Antonio Conte side didn’t quite flourish last season; capitulating from first to first.
Although the ex-Juventus boss has resumed pre-season at Cobham, there are still speculations that the Blues are in talks with Sarri.
According to Football.London, the 59-year-old has stipulated to Roman Abramovic that neither Eden Hazard nor Willian should be sold.
The pair is still on holiday after featuring for their respective nations at the World Cup.
Hazard is being linked to Real Madrid as Cristiano Ronaldo’s successor. Willian, meanwhile, is surprisingly on the wishlist of Barcelona.
However, Sarri wants assurances that both will remain at the club before he can take charge.
