In a game where most of the pressure sat on the shoulders on Van Gaal’s Manchester United following their F.A Cup quarter-final defeat to Arsenal on Monday evening, Spurs simply didn’t get going, and inside of 35 minutes they were already three down, and in danger of being embarrassed.
Last week Tottenham supporters on Twitter spoke of their excitement that United were ‘there for the taking’ and were confident of coming away from Old Trafford with yet another win, following their run of two wins in the last two at Old Trafford, and being unbeaten in their last five home and away against the Red Devils.
