Sunderland may be pleased with their 0-0 draw with league leaders Chelsea on Saturday but they could have got more, as Blues striker Diego Costa was lucky to stay on the field.
Whilst the referee missed the incidents, social media didn’t and fans from across the country were criticising the striker, who has dropped in form in recent weeks. Costa kicked out against the Sunderland defence and was also guilty of using an elbow in an aerial challenge, both of which are red card offences by law.
Fans believe that had it not been a Chelsea player, he would have been sent off- which is hard to argue with, as we’re pretty sure a Sunderland player would’ve been given their marching orders had they committed a similar offence.
Diego Costa is a disgusting player. Should have had 2 red cards on Saturday.

How did Diego Costa not see red?

Diego Costa’s kick vs Gaston Ramirez last week. One got a red, one didn’t. That’s the inconsistency of refereeing proven in 1 week #hcafc

Watching #MOTD. The antics of #DiegoCosta aren’t new. He mistakes violence for passion. Should have saw red for his strangle on Zaba. #mcfc

I have no idea how Diego Costa hasn’t got a red card yet this season.

How on earth wasn’t Diego Costa red-carded yesterday? Am I missing something ?

Diego Costa should have been given a red card for his forearm smash on Wes Brown.

Why didn’t Diego Costa see red? Big team bias right there.. Kudos to O’Shea for not doing a Vertonghen
