With Jose Mourinho looking likely to take over as Manchester United manager this summer, it’s safe to assume it’ll be a busy transfer window for Manchester United. We look at some players Manchester United have been linked with who would be ideal signings for the Red Devils this summer.
1. Romelu Lukaku
You all know who Romelu Lukaku is. The big Belgian has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, with his father even admitting that he would love it if his son joined the Red Devils. Lukaku is strong, pacey, young and has a real eye for goal, with the Belgian managing to score eighteen goals and provide six assists in the Premier League this season.
Manchester United are in desperate need of an established striker, so I’m expecting Jose Mourinho – or whoever else is in charge – to make signing a talented forward his main priority this summer. Marcus Rashford has been a revelation for Manchester United since getting the call-up to the first team, but United still need an experienced striker to lead the frontline. With Romelu Lukaku, United can get a striker with a few seasons of Premier League experience under his belt, despite him still fitting United’s transfer policy of almost exclusively signing young players. At just twenty-two-years-old, Lukaku’s best years are ahead of him and it’s scary to think just how good the Belgian could be when he hits his peak. The striker would definitely be worth the £50 or so million Everton would demand for him this summer.
