League One remains a good place to find value this weekend, as although there is always an element of unpredictability about England’s third tier, there are plenty of indicators that point to some good bets this weekend, as explained below.

Tip 1 – WIGAN vs. Peterborough – Home win @ 1.7
Wigan are in great form having won 4 out of their last 6 league games. Peterborough started the season with impressive away form but this has since deteriorated. Their recent form has been pretty terrible, having lost 5 of their last 6 games. Their last two away games have resulted in 3-0 and 3-1 defeats to Bury and Millwall. With Wigan chasing top spot in League One, there will be no reason for complacency and this should be a fairly straightforward win, so at 1.7, Wigan are a good value addition to an accumulator or a heavily backed single.

Tip 2 – SCUNTHORPE vs. Gillingham – Home win @ 2.15
I’m tipping Gillingham’s terrible away form to continue on Saturday. Scunthorpe still have an outside chance of a play-off spot and their hopes would be given a significant boost with a win in this fixture. The teams are at opposite ends of the form table with Gillingham having won just one of their last six whilst Scunthorpe have won three, drawn two and lost just one. Gillingham have been defeated in their last two away games whilst Scunthorpe haven’t lost any of their last five home games in the league. I would be very confident with a double chance bet here, but as that is only being offered at 1.3, I’ll go for the home win at 2.15 with Betfair.

Tip 3 (Treble) – SHEF WED vs. Rotherham, BURNLEY vs. Blackburn, SOUTHAMPTON vs. Sunderland & under 3.5 (Insured/Acca Edge) @ 4.42
Note: Acca Edge/Insurance means if one leg lets you down, you’ll get your stake back.

Tip 4 – PORT VALE vs. Colchester – Home win @ 2.05
Port Vale are a pretty safe bet at home having lost just one of 17 fixtures at Vale Park this season. Although Colchester managed an impressive 3-1 win in their last away outing at Bradford, it was only their third away victory of the season and they are sitting rock bottom of the table, 10 points from safety. Port Vale need to win to keep their playoff hopes alive, and you would expect their home form to carry them through in this one.

Tip 5 – (Treble) WIGAN vs. Peterborough, SCUNTHORPE vs. Gillingham, PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN vs. Montpellier @ 5.4

PSG at 1.44 adds value to this League One double to make it a very lucrative treble. Marco Verratti and Blaise Matuidi have been ruled out for the home side, but the influential Angel di Maria is back in the squad.

Tip 6 – (4-fold) PORT VALE (DC) vs. Colchester, SCUNTHORPE (DC) vs. Gillingham, Carlisle vs. NORTHAMPTON (DC), Heerenveen vs. UTRECHT (DC) @ 3.8
Although Northampton have recently ended their winning run, they remain on a remarkable unbeaten run that doesn’t look like ending anytime soon. Utrecht are in brilliant form in the Eredivisie and are battling for a European spot whilst Heerenveen remain inconsistent in midtable.

Tip 7 – (Treble) Argentinian and Mexican League – ARSENAL SARANDI (DNB) vs. Velez, LANUS vs. Newells Old Boys, TIJUANA (DNB) vs. Leon @ 5.5
This South American treble gives you the chance to make some profit in the early hours of Saturday. Arsenal Sarandi have been in fabulous form at home so far this season, whilst Velez have struggled away from home. 1.75 is great value for draw no bet for Arsenal, as I cannot see them losing this one. Lanus are extremely dangerous at home, whilst Newells have been thrashed by Boca Juniors and Rosario Central in their last two outings, 1.85 is a brilliant price for the home side to come away with three points. Although their away form has picked up a little recently, Leon often struggle on their travels, whilst Tijuana remain extremely hard to beat at the Estadio Caliente. I feel confident backing Tijuana at 1.7 draw no bet for this fixture.
