The two London clubs meet at White Hart Lane this Saturday with both clubs looking to get their first win of the season. Crystal Palace suffered a shock defeat at home to West Brom last Saturday whilst Tottenham managed a point away to Everton. Both teams didn’t kick off the new campaign as they would have wanted and they’ll certainly want to put that right this weekend, here are three key battles that will decide the outcome of the match.
1 – Andros Townsend v Danny Rose
New Crystal Palace man Andros Townsend will find himself up against one of the most improved left-back’s in the Premier League this Saturday in Danny Rose. The former Spurs player returns to his former club this weekend and will be eager to show his former club what they’re missing out on and will certainly want to get the better of England compatriot Rose. Both players will know each other inside out after spending several years together at Spurs, they will know each other’s strengths and weaknesses and will look to exploit that this weekend. Townsend found fine form on the back hand of last season and will look to replicate it this year whilst Rose was a consistent performer in the Spurs squad that finished third, this is certainly one battle to keep an eye on which could pan out to be a very exciting watch.
