Last time the two sides met, Alli scored one of the best goals of last season at Selhurst Park, a perfect half volley with his back to goal, Palace’s midfield have to be certain this doesn’t happen again and keep the Youngster at bay. One man that will have a battle on his hands is Yohan Cabaye; the French international will no doubt start in the middle of the park on Saturday after Jedinak left for Aston Villa. Alli was influential last season on a consistent basis and this really is a big battle in the midfield. Alli likes to pick the ball up and drive forward creating chances and opening up spaces, Cabaye will have to stay on his toes at all times and try nick the ball on Alli’s first touch to ensure he isn’t able to turn and drive at the Palace defence. Jedinak liked to sit deep for Palace and win the physical battle, although Cabaye isn’t of this calibre he will find himself in a heated battle with Alli, who can often let his temperament get the better of him. Alli won the battle last time round as Spurs came out worthy winners over Palace, but Cabaye will have his hands full this time round to ensure the same doesn’t happen again.
