The David de Gea to Real Madrid links reached new levels today as fans began to discuss the possibility of a goalkeeping roundabout involving Manchester United, Tottenham and Real Madrid.
With de Gea seemingly closing in on a move to Madrid, Manchester United are reportedly eyeing Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris as a potential replacement.
I’d expect United to raise around £30million from De Gea’s sale, considering he has just one year left on his contract. Lloris will probably cost around the same amount, and Tottenham should be able to get Casillas for no more than £10million. If that is the case, Spurs would benefit the most financially, but of course they would lose a younger, better goalkeeper than Casillas.
Real Madrid would be the big winners in this trio of deals, securing one of the best goalkeepers in the world, an area where they need to strengthen. Spurs fans aren’t too happy with the idea.
Here’s how the fans are reacting to a possible triple deal:
Hoping that #Levy grows a pair re this 3-way goalkeeper merry go round. Without #Lloris, @SpursOfficial would’ve finished nowhere. #COYS

So Casillas to Spurs Lloris to United and De Gea to Madird. As soon as Madrid get involved we always lose our best players!!

I hope United do a Levy and hold on to DDG till Aug 31 for 35 mil. But then Levy would probably make us pay 40 for Lloris #mufc

All things point to United paying shitload of money to Spurs for Lloris.

Replacing Lloris with Casillas would be like replacing something really good with something old and not good any more.

Does anyone else agree that De Gea should sign a 1 year extension so that we will get the best deal? This is what Gundogan did at Dortmund!

Daniel Levy do not sell Lloris. I know you’re a businessman but fight the urge. Not everyday profit.

can’t we all just keep the same goalkeepers like. save a shitload of money and i will miss lloris…waaaaaa.
