Twitter reacted in a variety of ways today regarding the news that an Independent Regulatory Commission had upheld Diego Costa’s three-game suspension.
The Football Association charged the Spanish international earlier this week following a stamp on Liverpool midfielder Emre Can in the League Cup Semi-Final Second Leg at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea then appealed the decision but their views were rejected and the ban was upheld.
Costa will now miss tomorrow’s clash with Manchester City, as well as the forthcoming Premier League ties against Aston Villa and Burnley.
Costa’s three game suspension could really damage Chelsea this weekend. I think the FA have done well this season when reviewing matches.

Arsenal fans making a bigger deal of the Costa ban than Liverpool fans. #Obsessed

Costa ban makes sense in a pragmatic “he probably did mean it, so we’ll ban him” framework. Take it the FA will act in this way forever more

I’m not riled by Costa’a ban. All I want is some consistency from the FA.

Arsenal fans celebrating Costa’s ban like it has anything to do with them. Any negative thing that happens to us is like a trophy for them.

Costa rightly banned for 3 games for stamp on #LFC‘s Emre Can. Great player who needs to clean up his act.

Chelsea fans moaning about the ban. Most players go a whole season without ‘accidentally’ stamping on someone. Costa did twice in one game

Costa stamps on a Liverpool player, gets banned for the Everton match. God might just be an Evertonian…

‘Always victim, never your fault’…Great song from Chelsea fans against Liverpool. Didn’t realise they were referring to Costa though.
