Football fans across the country suffered a massive blow today, as it was revealed that Marco Reus had signed a new contract with Borussia Dortmund- which makes it extremely unlikely that he will leave the club this summer.
A host of Europe’s top sides were chasing the German superstar, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United holding interest from the Premier League.
However, Reus has now signed a deal with the Bundesliga club until 2019- which has scuppered each sides plans of a bargain €25m move this summer, which would have been available due to his previous release clause.
Happy for BvB, though. And Reus. But even happier that everyone can now stop talking about it. Thank god.

Imagine paying £50-60m for Reus.. that’d be mental. You’d sign him and the next day he gets injured.

Fairplay to Reus though for not jumping ship

#spobis15 Reus is a “special kind of guy” according to Watzke. Could’ve doubled his money elsewhere.

Before admiring Reus “loyalty” wait until he fulfills his contract until 2019. I think he’ll leave before.

As far as I’m concerned Reus extending with Dortmund is a huge victory for football- money doesn’t have to control everything after all

Wait.. BVB managed to remove Reus’ buyout clause? That is quite impressive.

I said awhile back that with Reus, BVB faced the same kind of situation Bayern had w/ Ribery in 2010. Proved pivotal for FCB. Same for BVB?
