Reports in Germany have suggested Arsenal will battle with Manchester United for the signing of ex-Chelsea midfielder Kevin de Bruyne. This rumour has sparked mixed reaction on Twitter, with some suggesting he is not needed and others excited about the prospect.
He has managed six goals and 12 assists since his £18million move to Wolfsburg this summer. Any deal for de Bruyne is likely to cost interested parties upwards of £25million.
Chelsea fans were bemused when their club decided to sell the young midfielder, as he is viewed by many as the next big thing to emerge from Belgium. His form in the Bundesliga this season is doing little to dampen that reputation and he is now being linked with a big move back to one of Europe’s biggest clubs. Arsenal and Manchester United have been heavily linked over the last few days and fans have had a mixed reaction to the links on Twitter. Some suggest he is not needed, as both Arsenal and Manchester United already have plenty of attacking midfielders, whilst others suggest he is too good a talent to miss out on. Here’s a general overview of how the fans are reacting on Twitter right now:
De Bruyne would be a great signing. I still don’t know why Chelsea let him go.

Seriously though, De Bruyne would be a nice signing especially if Mata doesn’t step up — Kasper (@kaspermeidell) January 21, 2015
De Bruyne, if signed, will be the first decent Man United signing since Van Persie,

Possible to go through a transfer window without De Bruyne rumours? He’s been bandied around like a Taiwanese whore through his career. — Tom (@tomahonline) January 22, 2015

This Arsenal fan seemed less enthusiastic about a potential deal, citing that they didn’t need any more attacking midfield reinforcements.
Dream signing:Kevin De Bruyne. Arsenal fans always go for attackers lol rather than what’s needed…
