As a team, Everton were very impressive. They look very good under Ronald Koeman and are so far unbeaten in the Premier League – currently sitting at 2nd in the table. One player Koeman has managed to get the best out of is Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku – who managed to score a goal and grab an assist in Saturday evenings win at home to Middlesbrough.

Lukaku’s stats were impressive too. He managed an impressive 88% pass accuracy, a part of his game where he often struggles. The Belgian was not involved as much as he would have liked throughout the game, but the important thing was he managed to get a goal and assist. Lukaku needs to continue consistency with his goalscoring record in order to be considered amongst the best. The start to the season he has made under Koeman will give a lot of optimism to the Everton fans that they may well have one of the best young striker on the planet at their club.

Lukaku was withdrawn after 65 minutes because of a slight injury, but after 3 goals against Sunderland and one more against Boro, the fans will be hoping that this injury is just a short term problem.

Here’s what Twitter thought of Romelu’s performance.

With 4 Premier League goals already this season, Lukaku is only behind Antonio and Costa in the scoring charts, both of whom have scored 5 goals. I’m sure he will have his personal sights on winning the golden boot for the season, but also helping Everton qualify for Europe – something that is long overdue.
