Manchester United fans have been put in a good mood today after the club announced a deal in principle to sign Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven.
The Dutch international had attracted the attention of Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, amongst others, but opted to move to Old Trafford and reunite with his former national boss Louis Van Gaal.
Fans have been quick to celebrate the signing, as well as mocking Liverpool supporters who had been confident that Depay would snub the Red Devils and sign for them instead.
Whether Depay will be a hit in the Premier League remains to be seen but his performances for PSV and Holland suggest that United have got themselves a very good deal.
He will join up with his new squad at the end of the season, with just three Premier League games to go, and he tweeted his own message to supporters- so what better way to start, before we get dug into what the fans have to say.

Bid for Depay, end up with Scott Sinclair (probably). Liverpool’s transfer business is the perfect metaphor for the General Election.

Depay has scored more league goals this season than Sterling, Coutinho, Lambert, Borini and Balotelli combined. Depay (21) Combined (17)

Mkhitaryan, Willian, Sanchez, Depay. Is there even a point.

#MUFC previously signed Nistelrooy, Park and Stam from PSV. If Depay delivers the same as they did it’ll be one spectacular signing.
